Annyong = Hi *infromal [ann-yong] Annyong Haseyo = Hello, Good Morning, Good Afternoon [ann-yong ha-se-yoh] Annyeonghi Jumuseyo = Good Night [ann-yong-hi ju-mu-se-yoh] Annyeonhi Gaseyo = Bye bye * [ann-yong-hi ka-se-yoh] Dongsaeng = Little brother/sister [dong-seng] Je ireumeun...imnida = My name is... [example: Je ireumeun Jhana imnida] [jeh irum-yun m-ni-dah] Take Note: 1. Korean's pronounce the R as L, and G as K. So when you read something like GOMBAWOYO it is actually said as KOMBAWOYO. 2. If it is your first time meeting someone who is of course a Korean you add "mnida" if it ends with a vowel. [Annyong Haseyo.. Jhana-imnida] but if it ends with a consonant you add "seumnida [su-mnidah]" so it'll go "Annyong Haseyo... Lucifer-seumnida." *Formal form is MOSTLY used by men. 3. Korean words are also translated from English - Korean but when you translate it is often omitted if it is clearly understood from the context. Example: Where do you live? = Eodi saseyo [o-di sa-se-yoh]? = Where live? |
